Structural edit (also known as developmental or substantive edit). This involves a detailed analysis of the text in consultation with the author. We will work on character development, continuity, syntax and plot lines to take your ideas and turn them into a wonderful book.

Pricing depends on the level of work required.

Children's books, rewrites, ghost writing and books of fewer than 10,000 words are priced individually. Please contact me to discuss your requirements.

Basic copy-edit (also known as line edit): advising the author of any inconsistencies, anomalies and contradictions within the text, along with occasional suggestions for improving sentence construction. I will suggest a basic copy-edit if the manuscript has undergone some self-editing by the author and is in pretty good shape.

£9 per 1,000 words.

Proof read: checking the text for spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors. Proof reading does not include any advice on sentence construction, inconsistencies or contradictions.

Between £10.50 and £15 per 1,000 words, depending on the level of work required.
